My Story
Heidi Schiesl - Founder
Language is my passport to a world of discovery. Ever since middle school, when French was the only window to a foreign language, I felt an undeniable spark that transformed curiosity into passion. With my mother’s encouragement and the steady guidance of a dedicated after-school tutor, I soon found that every new word uncovered not just a language but an entirely new way of seeing the world. By the time I reached comprehensive school, I wasn’t just learning French—I was excelling in it, recognised as one of the best speakers among my peers.

My journey did not stop with French. Intrigued by the beauty of different sounds and structures, I expanded my linguistic repertoire by embracing German when offered the opportunity, and later Italian became an irresistible call as soon as it entered the curriculum. I took my first tentative steps as a teacher at 18, sharing my love of language with a ten-year-old learning French—a moment that would set the stage for a lifelong vocation. Every stage of my academic career—from A-levels steeped in Italian, French, German, English language, and literature—solidified my belief that mastering a language is as much about embracing its culture as it is about learning its grammar.
After graduating from university, my path led me to Rome where a full-time role with the Ministry of Culture allowed me to teach Italian and English to immigrants. I helped them build the confidence needed to seize opportunities, often in bustling tourist environments. Later, as I worked with the military while stationed abroad, I founded welcome classes for incoming soldiers and their families in France, Italy, and Germany—classes that have evolved into a longstanding tradition of cultural integration. Even beyond my official duties, I continued to offer private lessons, teaching English to local nationals and my military colleagues alike, all out of a deep commitment to connecting people through language.

What makes my approach unique is the belief that learning a language is more than getting vocabulary—it is about unlocking a whole new cultural perspective. Whether you’re learning German, Italian, French, or English as a Second Language, my classes are designed not just to teach you words and sentences, but to immerse you in the stories, history, and living culture behind them.
Join me on this linguistic adventure. Let’s turn the study of language into an immersive experience where every lesson is a journey, every conversation a doorway, and every word a bridge connecting you to a broader world of culture and opportunities.
